DAX: Adding More to Your Report

About this Course

This is the second course in the Power BI series which focuses on learning DAX principles to create new information from data already in your model

DAX, or Data Analysis Expressions, is a collection of functions, operators, and constants that can be used in a formula, or expression, to calculate and return one or more values. Learn and use DAX to become more efficient and create new insight from your data.

During this one-hour course, you will receive comprehensive yet simple to follow hands on introduction to DAX in Power BI. We will focus on creating new measures, columns, tables, quick measures, as well as using the Groups feature.

After your completion of the course, you will be able to get the most out of your data. When you get the information you need, you can begin to solve real problems that affect your day to day operations. This is the power in Power BI, and DAX will help you get there.

What You’ll Learn in this Course

You will learn about DAX capabilities to include:

  • Measures
  • Calculated Columns
  • Quick Measures
  • Binning
  • Calculated Tables

Course Outline

This session will walk through the steps of importing data using a M script and writing DAX formulas for new measures, columns, tables, quick measures, as well as the Groups feature.
